We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house,and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn't rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. At one time they were supposed to show up on a Tuesday, then said Wednesday, then it was 3 weeks after that when they showed up. There is horrible communication between the installation people, that call to let you know, and the regional installation manager. He told me I lied, that they weren't supposed to be there that day, so I called corporate, and they said yes, they were. Then they said it would be the next day. I love my roof. Dealing with them was kinda hard.”

This was the second house I have put an interlock roof on, and the previous install definitely helped push me to interlock again. Payment was also frustrating. It was frustrating that my wife, the secondary contact on the contract, was called asking for payment when I had been the contact throughout this process and we gave a check to the installers. Corporate should have called the local office first to get their payment answer. And if there was a question beyond that, then have someone is been in contact with before reach out to me”

I wasn't sure If I was leaving the information with the right person. The manager didn't speak with their other employees about the organization. When he talked to me he was degrading. He said a lot of lies and things that were not true. He was trying to make me believe it was my fault. They had my down payment for 6 months and didn't bother to order the materials for it. They ignored the fact that I had sent letters and canceled. Now I have to hire a lawyer to get my money back.”

“Preventing phone tag by having the office staff leave more detailed project status messages rather than just "call me back" would have been very helpful. While our project was understandably delayed due to weather and material availability, it was difficult for us to get updates and specific information on what was happening. That made scheduling the plumbers and solar installers much more difficult for us. We were pleased that the installation crew was able to install the aluminum roofing materials in a manner allowing us to keep our gutter helmets on the eavestroughs. The crew was also helpful in assisting and coordinating with the relocation of the plumbing vent stack by the plumber so that additional solar panels could be installed.”

“That is only based on the fact that they misled me with the project date. They could have improved on their communication with the customer and given a realistic starting date. They used weather related issues for the reason for the delays and there were no weather issues in our area, that is for sure. One of the reasons why I agreed to the price was because of the timeframe that they told me that they could have the job finished in. If I knew that the job wasn't going to be done until February, I would have got other quotes from other companies. The idea of an expensive reoccurring expense on anywhere from a 15 to a 25-year time period was unsettling. After purchasing my townhouse, one of my goals was to make my house as maintenance-free as possible with the knowledge that in the future, the home may not be owner-occupied. After I had Greg Webber come out and give me an estimate, I took a bit of time to do research and look at quite a few homes with different styles and colors. As an engineer, I was impressed with the material and the commitment that Interlock has to stand by not only the product but also the installation. The thought of my roof either maintaining or appreciating in value over time put my mind at ease, looking forward to the future. After deciding to move forward with Interlock, the decision was what color and style. This was maybe the most difficult part of the decision, and am thankful for Greg, and the patience had with me. I was able to find a time that would be feasible for Greg and another family member to finalize the color and style. I went with the slate and the weathered gray which ended up matching well with the front of the house, which has white and gray in the brick and did not contrast to sharp with the tan of the siding. Due to the original construction of my house, there were some concerns that I had with the roof and the install. When the house was originally constructed, there was only roof vents on one side for ventilation; also, I wanted to remove the Satellite dish that was installed on the chimney and last but not least, the flashing around the chimney was incorrect and did not have a kick out to drain the water into the gutters, and therefore I drained into my garage instead. Jesse did a terrific job of the installation and addressed all of the issues of the original construction, and couldn't be any happier. Since completion, I have received numerous compliments from neighbors and friends. If I had to install a roof again, there would be no question that I would go with Interlock Roofing again.”

Between the 11″ of rain and hail the size of nickels that beat down on our older roof, it was clear we needed to start the search for a roof sooner than later. The asphalt roof granules covered our decks and ground! Interlock Industries were the first company I called after talking to my insurance company. The sales person answered right away, we scheduled an appointment only a couple days later. Interlock offered free estimates! In the mean time I called other steel roofing companies out of Northern Wisconsin. It took days to get a response, the customer service was lacking. After getting our estimate from Interlock and learning about the aluminum roofing shingles, we knew it was the best choice and the best investment for our newly purchased home. The roof was completed in 4 days and it looks awesome!”

I still see edges that are devoid of paint. I know it most likely doesn't affect if the metal will last as it is aluminum, since the paint isn't what keeps it from decaying as it would on a steel roof. It is just a matter of quality control.”

A quick peek in the attic confirmed my worst fears, the ice dam on the roof was allowing melted water to seep through the crappy asphalt shingles and into the house. We called a local contractor and had the ice dam removed, but this didn't fix the underlying problem that our current roof was cheap and damaged.”
